What Happened
The history of the Vikings in
America and elsewhere was told in their sagas. The sagas where a
story form of the events which occurred to various

Norsemen and
which were told and retold from generation to
generation. The accuracy of these sagas as historic
fact must be examined carefully when drawing
conclusions. The credibility of the Vinland sagas
has been generally accepted as a true outline of the
events of the exploration of America by the Vikings.
