The overwhelming vital relationship that Canada has had is it's relationship with the United States. From the French English rivalry to Confederation to modern Presidential, Prime Ministerial confrontations and cooperation, Canada has always had to consider the U.S. in almost any major decision or action. The U.S. is Canada's closet friend and sometimes biggest problem. These documents reflect many of the issues that unite and divide the two states.
